It is one of the most crucial branch of Unani system of medicine which deals with the health of infants, children, adolescents and young adults.
The Department consist of 2 units
- The Outpatient unit (OP)
- The Inpatient unit (IP)
PAEDIATRICS DEPARTMENT: The Department of PAEDIATRICS has an OP unit and an IP unit and the Subject is
allocated for the Third year (3rd year) students as per the NCISM norms.
TEACHING METHODS: Regular theory and practical classes are conducted to the students and the allocated syllabus is taught meticulously to them. Various learning and teaching techniques are used to uplift and impact knowledge and improve the basic skills of the students.
- Active learning techniques such as Demonstration of case studies, Small Group projects, Interactive sessions are
conducted for the students to enhance their thinking capabilities, knowledge and skills.
- During the practical classes demonstration, Usage of specific instruments are taught to the students for their practical knowledge of the subject like Thermometers, Catheters, Baby scales & infant standard scales, Phototherapy (radiant warmers), Resuscitation boards, Bag valve mask (BVM),Bag mask Ventilation(Ambubag), Pulse oximeter, Newborn kit, Suction Apparatus/ Machine, Lumbar puncture, Needles, Laryngoscope, Nasopharyngeal tubes, Feeding tubes, Oropharyngeal Airways, Endotracheal tubes.
- WORK CARRIED AT OP-UNIT: On Regular basis the dept. of Paediatrics OP unit deals and treats several cases on large scale basis for the diseases such as: Delayed Milestone, Cerebral Palsy, Hemiparesis, Hemiplegia, Rickets, Arthritis, Pneumonia, Asthama, Enuresis, Malnutrition, Protein Energy, Malnutrition, Sinusitis, Worm Infestation, Eczema, Psoriasis, Stomatitis etc and patients are taken specific care and follow-ups are maintained on regular basis.
- WORK CARRIED AT IP UNIT: On Regular basis the IP unit deals with patients diagnosed with Chronic ailments and diseases and the treatment for the same may take up to 3-4 Months of duration and followed by meticulous OP visits for overall development and progress.
