The department of Ilaj Bit Tadbeer (Regimenal therapy) is one of the oldest department of Govt. Nizamia general Hospital, it was started in the year 1938 as “Department of Turkish bath ” now it comes under Regimenal Department. The department of Ilaj Bit Tadbeer is an undergraduate clinical department, actively involved in academic and clinical work.
Literally” Tadbeer “is an Arabic word which means “Regimen” whereas “ilaj” means” therapy”. Thus, ” Ilaj bit tadbeer “means treatment through special regimen. It is a method, through which maintenance of general health and care of sick person are attained through modulation or modification in Asbab – e – sitta – zarooriya ( six essential factors for life ).
Ilaj bit tadbeer is used independently or in combination with other methods of treatment like ilaj- bil- dawa, ilaj-bil-giza, ilaj – bil – yad .These regimen are actually meant for the istefragh – e – akhlat- e – radiya ( evacuation of morbid humours) from the body.
The department provides high quality teaching and training at undergraduate levels. The department is deeply involved in teaching to the students through class room teaching, bed side presentation of various Regimenal procedures, seminars. Faculty members of the department are enthusiastic in teaching and training.
The department provides service to the patients where in a large number of patients with paralysis, cervical spondylosis, Arthritis, cerebral palsy, migrane, Rickets, obesity came for the treatment in Regimenal therapy department. These patients are admitted for the purpose of treatment and Regimenal therapies.
The therapies included in this department are DALA’K, NATUL, KAI, AABZAN BAKHOOR, SA’OUT, TAKMEED, HAMMAM, TA’LEEQ, PASHOOYA, HIJAMA etc,.
