The Department of Ilmul Qabalat wa Amraz e Niswan was established in the year 1983. The Department consists of 30+ PG scholars from first year to final year, every year. The Department consists of 2 OPD units i.e., Gynaecology outpatient and Obstetrics outpatient Departments respectively. And two Inpatient units i.e., Gynaecology ward and Obstetrics ward with total 50 bed strength.
The faculty members include one PG Professor, Two Professors and Four Lecturers. The faculty members train the PG scholars for enhancing their knowledge of the subjects, Gynaecology and Obstetrics.
The OPD and IPD Departments headed by professors of the Department and all the 30+ PG scholars are posted in the respective 4 units. Various learning and teaching techniques are used to impart knowledge and skills of students.
The Obstetrics unit deals with wide range of Obstetrics issues which include Pregnancy and Childbirth issues. The Obstetrics Department is equipped with a Labour room and an Operation Theatre.
The Gynaecology unit deals with exclusive Unani treatments for all Gynaecological disorders. The Department focuses on Unani management and treatment including Cupping and Venesection for all gynaecological diseases.
The Department is actively involved in research work, teaching, Seminars, Symposium, with well-furnished infrastructure.
Till now the Department has endorsed about 500 Research scholars to whom a Post Graduate degree has been awarded.
The Department on a regular basis organizes about 6-8 Medical camps and Health awareness programmes related to Mother and Child health in and around Hyderabad to provide information and Health education and motivate the public to utilize Unani Treatment.
Department organizes Guest Lectures by renowned Gynaecologists from Hyderabad to update the knowledge of the students. It organizes awareness programs throughout the year on various Obstetrical and Gynaecological concerns. The students strengthen and hone their skills in Obstetrics and Gynaecology by the Peripheral Postings in Government Tertiary Level hospitals.

-Conducting Normal Labour.
-Exclusive Unani treatment for Gynaecological disorders
– Minor Gynaecological procedures.
-Infertility Treatment.
-Regimental therapies like Cupping and Venesection are also done for the management of Gynaecological disorders.
