Department of Skin Diseases and Cosmetology was established in the academic year 2012 after the re-deployment of 14 various department in Govt. Nizamia Tibbi College Charminar Hyderabad. Department of Skin Diseases and Cosmetology is a specialized department imparting high quality of health education as well as deals with the treatment of various chronic skin diseases in Unani system of medicine.
This department is dedicated to promote skin health and awareness across the people of the nation for 10 years in the health sector by holistic approach. Department on regular basis organizes health awareness programs, health Camps, for the vulnerable population of society to promote skin health and prevention techniques by means of maintaining essential factors responsible for health in the community.
The department covers the subject of skin diseases, Nail diseases, Hair diseases and Cosmetology. Major concern of the department is harnessing the potential of Unani system of medicine in preventive and treatment part aspects in health care services.
Department is planning for establishment of PG department in the institute with a hope that it will prove beneficial for development of institution and it is consistently working towards discovering of new knowledge in domain of skin diseases, and is eminently geared for its forward journey towards academic excellence and treatments.
Department has following Objectives
Teaching: – Sustaining the concepts and theories of unani system of medicine & understanding interpreting and analysing all such concepts with conventional sciences and conducting theory and practical demonstration for UG
In patient & Outpatient services: – the main emphasis of training is on patient care. It focuses on the adoptability of all skilled technique and procedures described in Unani system of medicine and also the methods and procedures of the system for diagnosis and treatment
